Bell Dangle Vintage Tribal Jewelry Anklet
This extraordinary vintage tribal jewelry anklet was
handcrafted during the mid 1900's for the nomadic Kuchi tribe of Central Asia.
It is rimmed with an upper row of colorful beads, and
fringed with clattering bells and beaded charms. The jumble of blue beads were deliberately placed not only for their beautiful color, but to ward off the evil eye.
The band of this beautiful anklet is hollow, making it
more lightweight and comfortable to wear. A pin-clasp opens and closes this beautiful Kuchi anklet, for a secure fit.
A warm age patina adds a glow that only the passage of time
can create. At the time of posting this, I have the pair available...the price
though is for one anklet.
About the KUCHI: The Kuchi are a nomadic group of people,
who for centuries traveled freely across international boundaries in the Middle
East and Central Asia. Once, the Kuchi were the primary merchants along the old
trade routes of this vast region.
Today Kuchi tribes are found primarily in
Southern Afghanistan, Iran and parts of Pakistan.
Kuchi jewelry and clothing is renowned for its vibrant
energy, exuberant colors, and creative spirit. It is especially prized by
dancers, collectors, and anyone who loves Tribal Jewelry. ©
