One-of-a-kind Vintage Tuareg Tribal Necklace
This distinctive Necklace has a Tuareg Silver Amazigh Pendant - a stylized human figure with its arms raised symbolizing the free human being.
This Amazigh symbol is so fundamental to the Tuareg that it appears in their pictograph alphabet as the last letter "Aza" ("Ezza").
The large pendant was handcrafted and signed by the Tuareg tribal jewelry artisan; it is sturdily made and does not bend.
The chain is made with black onyx and Tuareg silver spacer. A simple metal clasp completes the back.
About TUAREG: The African Tuareg
consist of widely dispersed nomadic tribes known for their great noble bearing.
They are said to refer to themselves as the "First People," claiming
to have inhabited their region for eons, and well before all others - a claim,
incidentally, that history supports.
The Tuareg are undisputed masters
of the desert, skillfully venturing with aplomb where others could not survive.
Men and women hold equal rank with Tuareg society.
