Taviz (Tawiz) pendants are shaped like horizontal tubes; they are hallmark amulets in India and throughout Central Asia. Men, women, and children all wear them. 

The styles, shapes and designs vary from region to region, but the intent is the same -- to assure a safe and bountiful journey through this life by safe-keeping and strengthening the wearer's prayers, wishes and secrets in its hollow compartment.

This beautiful ornate Taviz amulet was skillfully hand crafted in the early 1900's in the Gujarat region of Northern India. It is in excellent collectible and wearable condition. 

The skillful silverwork includes a traditional repeating-triangles design and a sturdy multiple-loop bail with a contemporary multi-strand neck cord.
