Old Tibeto-Nepalese Necklace with Sacred White Conch
This unique large collectible necklace was meticulously handcrafted in the Tibeto-Nepalese region of the Himalayas in the mid 1900's of ornate brass with white Conch, Turquoise, and Red Coral. The large spear-shaped brass pendant has a central conch cabochon with a running border pattern that promises a long life.
More conch shell has been generously strung on the flanking crescent-shaped pendants and side strands. This necklace has been restrung using the original beads and a few newer oneAge patina and distinctive wear patterns, especially on the center pendants.

About Conch: The plateaus of Nepal and Tibet were was once part of a giant ocean floor. The shells and coral that were buried there eons ago are highly prized by jewelry artisans for making symbolic pieces. Among the most revered shell is the conch, its white color considered to be the most sacred color among Tibetans.
