Large Vintage Kuchi Tribal Jewelry Choker Necklace from the Afghan Ghazni Province
This unusual vintage Afghan tribal
choker was handcrafted during the mid-1900's for the nomadic Kuchi tribe of the remote Ghazni Province in Central Asia.
It is an old tribal jewelry
necklace - not a new reproduction.
Measurements: (1 inch = 2.54 cm)
Length = Currently tied at 17 inches (can be adjusted longer or shorter by retying)
Front Drop = 6 inches (distance between edges at center front)
Weight = 11.4 oz
Material = Glass beads; Mixed metal; Fiber ties
The wide neckband was made with distinctively Ghaznagi triangular-beads in vibrant colors.
A fringe of long dangles with ornate charms hangs along the lower border of the neckband, clattering together with movement.
There are ties on the ends for adjusting the length.
This substantial necklace was well-made, with a mild wear patterns and a warm age-patina remaining after so many years.
Comes in a gift-box.
