About KAZAKHSTAN: Kazakhstan is one of several “-stan” countries located in
Central Asia. It is an
extremely large country – larger in land mass than all of Western Europe and
the largest landlocked country in the world.
Much of its terrain is rugged and
often inhospitable which favors a nomadic way of life.
Kazakhstan lies at the center of what once was the Old Silk Road - an active
network of trade routes connecting the East with the West.
For centuries, traveling merchants flooded
Kazakhstan with new ideas and goods for centuries when passing
through. As a result, its towns, villages, and artwork became surprisingly cosmopolitan
despite its remote locate.
