Unique Old Handcrafted Silver Ring from Central Asia
This is a magnificent Large Old Silver Ring that was part of a traditional Ceremonial Jewelry ensemble from Central Asia. The opulent Mughal influence is clearly present in its over-stated and luxurious design.
It was skillfully handcrafted in the early 1900’s with high-grade silver (90%) using meticulous glass beads of red, green, blue and golden yellow set in a deep silver setting. The impression is both of an open flower as well the rays of sun - both images symbolizing an abundant life.
Ceremonies could be extremely elaborate events among the people of Central Asia. Often those attending, as well as those hosting would dress with great splendor, covering themselves with magnificent ornaments and textiles.
This elaborate large ring was part of a jewelry ensemble worn on such occasions. It has been well cared for, and is excellent collectible condition, with age patina intact and the artisan’s mark “P” inscribed on the back.
Wearable, collectible, old silver Ceremonial Jewelry Ring from Central Asia.
