Tribal Jewelry Necklace Handmade in Nagaland

This classic necklace was handcrafted by Naga Tribe Jewelry Makers in Nagaland northern India. It is a traditional design from this region, made with multiple beaded strands and white bone spacers. The predominant beads are the distinctive Naga earthy-red  hue, with splashes of color added. A bone-button clasp closes the back. Necklaces like these are worn by men and women in the Naga Tribe.

About Nagaland: Nagaland is a remote mountainous region located in the farthest reaches of North-Eastern India bordering Myanmar (old Burma). It is one of the few places in the world where indigenous tribal groups and customs remain intact. Historically, the Naga were described as warriors and prolific headhunters, although these practices have long since ended.
