This very large vintage Afghan tribal bead was handcrafted during the mid to early 1900's for the nomadic Kuchi tribe of Central Asia. 

It will make a great focal bead for your own tribal jewelry creation, or it is large enough to be worn on a cord all by itself as a large pendant.

This large bead has a whipped-wire design spanning the center, and twisted wire cap at the top that strengthens the bail. There are 3 colorful beads at the bottom, catching the light for flashes of color. 

This old bead was skillfully and sturdily made. It has wear patterns and has been gently polished to reveal the glow of a warm age patina that only the passage of time can create.
