Large Old Silver Pendant Necklace - Pair of Fishes
The Pair of Fishes on this wonderful Old Silver Pendant are classically those of Eastern traditions - those of China, old Tibet, India, and Nepal. In this configuration, they are one of the Eight Auspicious Signs (Ashtamangala), bringing good fortune, a life of bounty, and enlightenment.
The most elegant of all fishes were considered the carp, as depicted on this pendant, because of their gracefulness and beauty.
This large old silver pendant was handcrafted in the mid 1900's with a skilled hand. It is all silver, including a solid silver back, and not a lightweight stamped piece. The the fish details remain brisk and clear with age patina in the crevices. It hangs from a natural leather cord.
