Old Turkmen Tribal Jewelry Girda Necklace with Large Pendant in Gilded Silver
Gorgeous Old Turkmen Tribal Jewelry Girda Necklace with handcrafted large gold-washed (gilded) silver pendant from the early 1900's in Central Asia. The running border of repeating rams horns promises to protect the wearer from harm, while imparting strength. The perfect central carnelian sits in a raised silver bezel with a scalloped border accentuating the vibrant red of the stone.
The ornate links on the side chains are also silver with raised carnelian eye beads to ward of the evil eye. Classically Turkmen, sturdily and substantially made. Handcrafted 70-100 years ago by a highly skilled craftsperson. Excellent collectible condition. Museum Quality with warm age patina intact. We have similar designs made of metal on our website at lower prices, but none are as remarkable and collectible as this one!
