Old Turkoman Teke Tribal Jewelry Pendant - Great Museum Quality Collectible Piece
This beautiful Old Bell-Shaped Turkmen Teke Tribal Pendant is made of Carnelians, Turquoise and Gold-Gilded Silver. The gilding accentuates traditional patterns of stylized leaves and flames, connecting the piece closely with the elements of nature. Some say that the shape is not really a bell, but that of a robed woman, and closely associated with the feminine. Handcrafted tribal piece from the mid 1900's.
Excellent Collectible Condition. These pendants were traditionally worn by Turkmen Tekke women as a necklace, on belts, or sown to their clothing at the shoulder. Beautiful Museum Quality Old Piece with Uzbek influences.
