The large contemporary Tibetan pendant on this unusual necklace was handcrafted in Nepal with a symbolic Pheasant design.

The Pheasant is considered one of the most revered symbolic forms in all of Tibet. The pheasants is the highest member of the "Four Harmonious Friends" representing the blessings of loving kindness praised by Buddha himself.

The reverse of the pendant is also elaborately embellished with repeating floral designs, linking the wearer with the realm of nature. It hangs from a thick black cord for wearing in the traditional way.
