Large Turkmen 3-Band Tribal Jewelry Bilezik Cuff Bracelet
This Kazakh Turkmen (Turkoman) qasli bilezik bracelet is a traditional multi-band cuff from this region in Central Asia.
There are 3 gilded qoshmahs, or
bands adding dimension and an impressive length. Each qoshmah has a repeating triangle design that is the hallmark of Kazakh tribal jewelry.
In true Turkmen fashion, 9 eye-shaped lapis lazuli beads
sit in raised bezels, intended to ward off the evil eye. Each terminal end has
7 “claws” or “fangs” that are said to have the amuletic powers of
protection.
The qasli bilezik is classically Turkmen, often
worn in pairs. Turkmen woman prized them not only for their beauty, but also to
shield the wrists from injury – a welcome safeguard given their rigorous
nomadic lifestyle.
We have 2 of these cuffs that are slightly irregular, but still look wonderful. Please see drop down menu to purchase an irregular cuff at a deep discount.
