This beautiful vintage Turkmen (Turkoman) necklace was skillfully handcrafted during the mid to early 1900's in Turkmenistan Central Asia. It was made with gold-gilded silver and encrusted with carnelians to ward off the evil eye.

The 3-dimensional pendant contains a portion that is a slender tube - a clever hiding place for safe keeping secrets, wishes and prayers..Stylized birds  and flame designs etched into the silver, highlighted with classic. An ornate chain completes the sides and back. 

This is a substantially made, large and beautiful piece. It is sturdy and does not bend.
