Turkmen asyks come in a variety of sizes and surface designs, but always with the same unique shape and well-intended purpose.
 
This silver Asyk is typical of the Turkmen Tekke tribe, with designs of stylized birds wings and flames highlighted by gold-gild over silver. The large center carnelian bead is set in a raised bezel, perched there to ward off the evil eye and invigorate the wearer. 

This is a sturdily made contemporary Turkmen Tekke Asyk silver pendant, handcrafted by Tribal Jewelry artisans in Peshawar along the Afghan border.
