Old Afghan Tribal Jewelry Spear Ring from the Swat Valley
This unusual vintage Afghan ring was handcrafted during the mid-1900's in the remote Swat Valley at the base of the Himalayas.
This is an old tribal jewelry ring - not a new reproduction.
A traditional ring, it was made using the colorful meenakari technique - a process of intricate enamel work for which this region was famous.
The bold spiked protrusion at the top of the wide band is another characteristic feature of Swati jewelry. This was a sturdily made ring, and does not bend.
There are mild wear patterns and a warm age patina remaining after many decades of time.
Comes in a gift box.
