Note: "Gauge" refers to the size of the earring part that fits through the hole of a pierced ear. Typical earrings usually have an earwire of 20-22 gauge (around .03 inches). The larger the gauge, the smaller the size, for example, gauge 16 is larger than gauge 20. "Gauged Jewelry" has gauge sizes that are often quite large; this style of jewelry is becoming more and more popular.
